Product Description

Wheat germ oil is extracted from the nutrient-dense “germ” or embryo of the wheat kernel (Triticum vulgare). It is globally recognized as the richest natural source of Alpha-Tocopherol (Vitamin E), providing unparalleled antioxidant protection against free radical damage and lipid peroxidation. This oil is a “heavyweight” emollient, containing high levels of linoleic and palmitic acids that work to repair severely dry, chapped, or weathered skin. It is particularly valued in anti-aging formulations for its ability to stimulate collagen production and improve peripheral blood circulation, which helps revitalize dull or mature complexions. Because of its thick texture and regenerative properties, it is a staple for treating stretch marks, surgical scars, and cracked heels. In hair care, its lecithin and B-vitamin content help to restore porosity and add structural strength to brittle strands.

Formulation Guidelines

• Sensitive to high temperatures and must always be added during the cool-down phase (below 40°C–60°C).
• It is often added to other carrier oil blends at 5%–10% to help stabilize them and prevent rancidity.
• Always store the pure form of wheat germ oil in amber glass and include 0.1%–0.5% supplemental Vitamin E to ensure long-term stability in finished emulsions.

• Intended for external cosmetic use; avoid ingestion unless food-grade certified.
• Individuals with severe Celiac disease or wheat allergies should perform a patch test or consult a doctor before using.
• With a rating of 5, it is highly comedogenic; avoid use on acne-prone or extremely oily skin.
